EnBW Energie Baden-Württemberg AG complements e-procurement system by electronic catalog system of Heiler Software AG

EnBW Energie Baden-Württemberg AG is going to apply the electronic catalog system Premium Business Catalog (PBC) of Heiler Software AG as the core element of their SAP e-procurement solution for the whole group.

Karlsruhe/Stuttgart, 08. October, 2001 - EnBW Energie Baden-Württemberg AG, the third-biggest energy group in Germany, has decided to go for the electronic catalog system of Heiler Software AG in the frame of the introduction of e-procurement within the whole enterprise. The SAP-supported software enables consumers, purchasers, traders, and suppliers to process procurement processes more efficiently, faster, and cost-efficiently.

In order to increase the efficiency of the great procurement activities of the group the Enterprise Buyer Professional (EBP) by SAP will be implemented as e-procurement system in the whole group. For this purpose the Premium Business Catalog (PBC) of Heiler Software AG is linked as the central component via the open catalog interface (OCI-interface). This catalog engine disposes of numerous possibilities in order to facilitate the search and the choice of products for the user. Some of the most impressive features are the search options like the hierarchic search, the resemblance search, the phonetic search, as well as the feature-oriented search supported by the classification system eCl@ss. Moreover EnBW AG also uses the great range of services of the catalog software specialist in Stuttgart, which does not only comprise a complete catalog management, but also an extensive content service.

Besides the numerous features of the Premium Business Catalog (PBC) the decisive criteria of EnBW for the decision of the catalog supplier have been the proximity to the customers, and the project experience of Heiler Software AG in the sector catalog solutions. "We have decided for Heiler Software AG as full-service provider, because the Premium Business Catalog has convinced us in a detailed selection process", states Andreas Körfer, e-procurement project "ePRO" manager at EnBW AG. "With the catalog management solution, and the complementing services Heiler Software AG proves to have exactly recognized the requirements of its customers."

Heiler Premium Business Catalog (PBC) provides a certified link to the SAP e-procurement system. The good adjustment of both systems, i.e. the adaptation of the catalog surface to the look and feel of the Enterprise Buyer Professional (EBP) of SAP, guarantees a fast training of the users, as well as little administrative effort, resulting in a fast return on investment.

Besides the implementation of the Heiler Premium Business Catalog (PBC), and the link to the SAP Enterprise Buyer Professional (EBP), Heiler Software AG also performs services within the scope of the catalog content management, in order to secure a seamless integration of the suppliers. These services contain both the transmission of the suppliers' catalogs to BMEcat 1.2, the dominating data exchange standard, and the integration of the suppliers' content in the catalog management system of the EnBW Energie Baden-Württemberg AG.

"The leading companies know that e-procurement cannot work without an efficient catalog solution", explains Rolf J. Heiler, CEO of Heiler Software AG. "The implementation of our complete solution at EnBW Energie Baden-Württemberg AG stresses the efficiency of Heiler Software AG in this sector."
