SABIC Europe implements procurement solution with Heiler Software

Sittard/ Stuttgart – 6th October 2009. SABIC Europe has selected the Heiler Business Catalog to implement an e-procurement solution. Heiler will help SABIC to manage its supplier catalogs, improve searching functions and achieve cost savings in purchase process. SABIC, headquartered in Riyadh (Saudi Arabia), is one of the world's top 5 petrochemical companies and is the largest non-oil company in the Middle East.

SABIC evaluated different suppliers and gone for Heiler because of the user friendly interface. “The aim was to implement a user friendly catalogue enabling requisitioners access Technical Goods & Services, Facility Goods & Services, Chemicals & Raw Materials, Packaging and ICT catalogues and allowing infrequent SAP users to make high quality requisitions”, says Wessel Swart, Program Manager procurement at SABIC, procurement at SABIC. He Peter de Esch, SAP Competence Center manager at SABIC, adds: “We highly appreciate the professional support from and flexible cooperation with Heiler during this project”

The catalogue system focuses mainly on materials which are highly specified and required on a continual basis. The high quality requisitions created via the new catalog system enable further automation of the purchase to pay process. Heiler Business Catalog will enable procurement to work more efficient, and to focus more on value added activities like contract negotiations, spot buy and supplier management. It is envisioned that there will be less free text requisitions and an increase of contract compliance.
