NordLB applies Catalog Solution of Heiler Software AG for E-Procurement
Stuttgart, 30. September, 2002 – CSC Ploenzke AG advises and supports the NordLB in setting up an electronic procurement system. The Premium Business Catalog of Heiler Software AG is implemented based on SAP SRM (Supplier Relationship Management). The Java-application guarantees the platform independence, and an optimum integration with the SAP SRM-products.In order to increase the efficiency of their procurement the NordLB introduces an electronic procurement system based on SAP R/3 in Hanover. CSC Ploenzke AG has been charged with this project. The core of the new solution forms the Premium Business Catalog (PBC) of Heiler Software AG, which can seamlessly be integrated with the e-procurement module of SAP. Via the PBC the employees of the NordLB will be able to access directly to the integrated supplier catalogs, thus clearly rationalizing and shortening the procurement processes.
The application of the Java-based Heiler solution at the NordLB ensures an implementation that suits any platform. Thus the catalog solution can also be operated with Unix and with Windows.
"Due to the fact that the competition in the financial sector is not least decided on the cost-side, only those institutes will prevail, which practice an active cost management. With the new e-procure-ment solution and the electronic catalog of Heiler we have become precursor" explains Rommel, head of information management and organization of the NordLB.
"With the establishment of a company-wide e-procurement solution, that is set up on a trend-setting SAP back-end structure, the NordLB takes a decisive step towards an optimized procurement management." The application of the Heiler-PBC facilitates a user-friendly handling of the complete procurement demands of the company, and moreover it creates the bases for the further extension of the system. "With the implementation of our catalog solutions at one of the most important German banks we can also proof our know-how in this important sector" adds Rolf Heiler, CEO of Heiler Software AG in Stuttgart. "With the Java-based catalog application we can provide the NordLB with the necessary freedom for the implementation."
