Electronic Catalog System of Heiler now also applied by Energy Service Provider enviaM

Stuttgart, 19. August, 2002 – envia Mitteldeutsche Energie AG, the biggest energy service provider in the new German states, with its headquarter in Chemnitz, integrates its local suppliers via the Premium Business Catalog and the Premium Content Manager of Heiler Software AG with its procurement solution. This way procurement processes for goods of the sectors maintenance, repair, and operational business can be organized more efficiently and they can largely be automated.
 
The core pieces of the procurement solution, applied by enviaM, are the Premium Business Catalog (PBC), and the Premium Content Manager (PCM) of Heiler Software AG. With these applications the energy service provider integrates regional suppliers of MRO-goods (maintenance, repair, and operations), with whom have already been maintained relations of many years.

In addition to this procurement element, which concentrates on local providers, enviaM operates an e-procurement system (EBP). It is focused on the operation of a completely integrable platform for the electronic procurement of catalog-based articles, like office, IT and industry supplies. The energy service provider, enviaM, uses the procurement platform for the handling of transactions with large suppliers, like e.g. Shell & DEA Oil in Leipzig. Regional business partners, however, are now integrated with a complementary catalog solution based on the Heiler products PBC and PCM. envia Mitteldeutsche Energie AG is the biggest regional energy service provider in the new German states. More than two-thirds of the added value, and of the purchasing and investment volume of the company are transacted in this region.

The EBP system, and the Premium Business Catalog of Heiler Software AG communicate via the OCI-interface. It facilitates the data exchange between SAP procurement systems (BBP = Business-to-Business Procurement/EBP = Enterprise Buyer Professional) and external catalog systems. The electronic procurement solution of enviaM consists of SAP Enterprise Buyer Professional with SAP R/3-connection, and an OCI-interface to the enviaM catalog in PBC.

"Moreover within the workflows the tasks for the respective departments are controlled up to the purchaser thus ensuring the efficiency of the process up to the approval of the catalogs." The energy service provider uses the Premium Catalog Manager for controlling, comparing, preparing, versionizing, and approving products from different commodity groups (tools, electric material, etc.). Thus the software and the related services serve the organization and the timing of the catalog-management process. After the final approval, the checked catalogs are transferred from the Premium Content Manager to the Premium Business Catalog.
