Hagemeyer manages product data with catalog solution from Heiler Software AG

German electrical/electronic goods wholesaler Hagemeyer Deutschland (ETG J. Fröschl) uses Premium Content Manager from Heiler Software AG to generate customer-specific catalogs

Stuttgart, August 8, 2002 – Electrical/electronic goods wholesaler Hagemeyer Deutschland (ETG J. Fröschl) will in future be using Heiler Software's Premium Content Manager (PCM) to manage its product data. The PCM will provide a highly efficient way to generate customer-specific catalog data from a base of some 600,000 products for the e-procurement systems run by Hagemeyer/Fröschl customers.

For its enterprise-wide product data management system, ETG J. Fröschl, the German subsidiary of the Hagemeyer Group and one of Germany's biggest providers of electrical/electronic goods, has decided to install the Premium Content Manager (PCM) catalog management system from Heiler Software AG. The PCM will enable Hagemeyer Deutschland (ETG J. Fröschl) to manage its 600,000 or so products from over 4000 suppliers in a single system, from which it can then generate customer-specific catalogs.

These customer catalogs can also be linked to information in the merchandise management system – prices or discounts, for instance –thereby preparing the customized input that flows directly into the
e-procurement systems of Hagemeyer/Fröschl's major customers.

The same data that is used for digital e-procurement catalogs can also be used to produce catalogs for online trading, and even for printed catalogs or CD-ROMs for traditional delivery channels. Managing its product data in a single, end-to-end system will allow Hagemeyer/Fröschl to create high-quality catalogs quickly and with low process costs.

Once the PCM has been implemented in Germany, the plan is to deploy the Heiler solution throughout the Hagemeyer Group on an international scale. "The product data management system is strategically important to us as a whole-sale company," explains Jörg Borgardt, the project manager at Hagemeyer Deutschland. "More and more large customers in particular are moving over to e-procurement systems. So they expect their suppliers to deliver data to match. The PCM from Heiler gives us a solution that is powerful enough to cope effortlessly even with such huge numbers of products, customers and suppliers."
