Moeller using Heiler Software for international product master data management

Central platform optimizes product data management and assortment control

Stuttgart/Bonn, July 31 2007 ---- The Moeller Group is opting for Heiler Software as a partner to manage its technical product master data at an international level. As a global supplier of electro-technical components for power distribution and automation, Moeller is heavily reliant on sales and product data to deal with the cultural, linguistic, and market-specific features of individual countries. The Group uses centrally maintained product assortments as a basis for this.

The Heiler PPM Premium Product Manager enables the company to maintain all material master data, classification systems, and related features in a central database, and to supply these to the relevant marketing and sales organizations quickly, easily, and cost-effectively for the maintenance of specific additional data. The Product Information Management (PIM) solution from Heiler Software is being integrated into the existing SAP R/3 system environment.

“We chose the Heiler PPM Premium Product Manager over several other providers because it matched our demands for functionality, interface standards, completeness, and workflow perfectly. It also incorporates non-central organizational units into the maintenance process. In addition, it provides special options, such as the transfer of material classes and mass data maintenance,” say Peter Oel, head of the Master Data Services department at Moeller GmbH, and Gerhard Nagelmaier, head of department at Moeller Gebäudeautomation GmbH, explaining the decision. “The Heiler solution saves us considerable time and costs, while helping improve the quality of our sales and product data.”

Product information management at Moeller’s subsidiaries is simplified by the high degree of internationality offered by the Heiler platform. This enables the central provision of product assortments that are tailored to country-specific target groups and requirements. Exchanging existing product information between the data services of individual subsidiaries has also been made easier – with the Heiler PPM Premium Product Manager providing user interfaces for all key languages and currencies.

The first stage will see around 20 Moeller Group employees using the new Heiler solution; up to 160 users are scheduled to work with it in the final stage.
