MAGNA STEYR goes for Heiler Software and Commerce One

Stuttgart, 30. April, 2002 – MAGNA STEYR applies the solution Buyside by Commerce One for its e-procurement in its automotive production in Graz, Austria, and realizes the entire catalog management with Heiler Software AG. Core of the catalog solution is the Premium Business Catalog and the Premium Content Manager, completely hosted at Heiler. As Application Service Provider (ASP) Heiler is in charge of extensive services for the examination and preparation of the suppliers’ catalogs.

MAGNA STEYR, Austria’s biggest car manufacturer, is going to use Commerce One Buyside together with the catalog management solution Premium Content Manager and the electronic catalog Premium Business Catalog of Heiler Software AG for its e-procurement. For this purpose will be provided approximately 30 suppliers' catalogs till the end of 2002. Within 36 month it is then planned to apply 200 catalogs with on average four updates per year and catalog. For the present approximately 300 users work with this solution, in the final stage up to 1,000 users will place approximately 30,000 orders monthly to the suppliers of MAGNA STEYR.

The peculiarity of the catalog solution implemented at MAGNA STEYR is that it is completely hosted as ASP by Heiler Software AG. Heiler provides the necessary hardware, carries out back-ups and protects the data, e.g. against viruses or unauthorized access. With a range of services Heiler above all realizes the complete integration of the suppliers into the e-procurement of MAGNA STEYR. For this purpose the suppliers' data are checked technically and in content, e.g. regarding their consistency, the correspondence with the classifications, and the standard BMECat 1.2. The import of the catalogs is realized for each supplier according to the respective requirements of MAGNA STEYR. For this purpose are defined specific workflows. For every check Heiler prepares detailed reports that serve as a basis for the approval of the imported and prepared suppliers' catalogs for the productive application.
