Fastenal tightens its grip on product information with Heiler

Fastenal Company, the 11th largest industrial distributor according to industrial distributor magazine’s 2007 rankings, has selected the Heiler Product Manager solution suite to manage its product information.

Fastenal, with sales of approximately 2 billion USD; over 2,000 retail stores; approximately 11 million SKUs; thousands of suppliers and a 1,000 page print catalog; needed a solution to help manage all of the product information and connect that data to its marketing collateral, improve collaboration with suppliers and generate additional sales.

Fastenal expects that once the product information management (PIM) system is truly operational, the data collaboration from manufacturers, through Fastenal and ultimately to customers will be seamless and efficient, cutting costs, time to market of new products and increasing revenue.  Plus Fastenal needed a technical and experienced partner to manage integration with a legacy Peoplesoft ERP system which stores all commercial data.  The Heiler PIM solution suite was a natural fit because of its scalable infrastructure, modular design, pre-built best practices and integration capabilities.  In addition, the Heiler PIM system provided Fastenal with the majority of all needed functionality in the base product.
