Heiler presents its new PIM solution for master data management with multi-channel support

Heiler's Product Manager 5.1 now available

Detroit/ Stuttgart, March 3rd 2010 - Heiler Software presents its new Product Manager. Enterprise Product Information Management (PIM) software serves as a central product and master data platform for eCommerce and multi-channel selling. Alongside numerous usability improvements, version 5.1 also simplifies the processes involved in the installation, classification and feature administration of products.

The more flexible export options support the provision of product data across multiple sales channels. "Successful eCommerce needs flawless product data," said Heiko Rumpl, the director in charge of product management at Heiler. "The PIM software supports long-tail strategies for retailers thanks to the direct export of supplier catalogues, and also ensures that so-called shadow assortments - which can be delivered but are not on show - can be sold," Rumpl went on to say.

Heiler's Product Manager has many innovations, particularly in terms of data administration. When creating new data sets, such as items or prices, the user interface makes this simple and quick. Amongst other things, cloning (copying) of existing product data sets is now possible.

There has also been a complete overhaul of structures, features and attributes. This increased functionality ensures that the data can be modelled more flexibly and that consistent features and attributes can be managed more efficiently. The new version allows features to be centrally defined for a structure system. These can then be consistently used for all structure groups. An additional highlight is the ability to map classification systems graphically, e.g. Ecl@ass or ETIM, and to map the related articles automatically. Finally, Product Manager also supports the administration of multi-value features.

"The aim of increasing user productivity with Heiler's Product Manager is a step closer with version 5.1," said Rumpl. The field selection dialog box and the resultant graphical marking of fields in selection lists helps in this regard. Additionally, version 5.1 supports the current database formats of Microsoft and Oracle.
